Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how tract.earth uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) when you use the Service. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. "Local storage" is a related browser mechanism that lets a site remember data on your device. We use both to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used.
2. How we use them
Strictly necessary
Required for the Service to work — for example, your authentication session (managed by Supabase) that keeps you signed in, and security features. These cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality.
Functional / preferences
Remember your choices to personalize the experience — for example, light/dark theme, map basemap and highlight color, default landing view, and role. On tract.earth these are stored in your browser’s local storage and are not transmitted to us as cookies.
Analytics
Help us measure aggregate usage and improve the Service (for example, which features are used). Analytics data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
3. Third-party technologies
Some features rely on third parties that may set their own cookies or receive requests when you use them, subject to their own policies — including Vercel (hosting and analytics), Mapbox (maps), and Stripe (billing and fraud prevention on billing pages).
4. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies and clear local storage in their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Service. Clearing local storage will reset your saved preferences.
We honor "Global Privacy Control" and similar browser signals where required by law. We do not respond to legacy "Do Not Track" headers, which lack a common standard.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of these technologies changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date.
